21c Museum Hotel was converting a century-old Ford Motor Company assembly plant into a new boutique hotel and contemporary art museum in Oklahoma City. The hotel concept combines a contemporary art museum with a boutique hotel, and the 188,000 square foot building would eventually become home to 135 guest rooms and 14,000 square feet of exhibition space, in addition to restaurants, a spa, a fitness center and other amenities. A quick look at the hotel reveals that it offers unique experiences throughout. From a design and specification perspective, the challenge was in selecting just the right products for highlighting artwork in vibrant public spaces while creating an inviting guest experience that sets just the right tone for each room in the hotel. The sheer scale of the project was daunting, in no small part due to the building’s enormous corridors, massive columns, and unique room layouts.
Accuserv has partnered with 21c Museum Hotels in other cities prior to this project, but each hotel and gallery has its own special set of custom lighting needs. In this case, Accuserv’s role was sourcing, procuring and distributing light fixtures and bulbs for the hotel and museum. The Accuserv network of warehouses and carriers ensured that each product was delivered as it was needed, so the hotel didn’t have to bother with storage or security of the materials during construction.
Today, the 21c Museum Hotel has a partner in Accuserv for creating a luxurious and memorable guest experience at each hotel.
